Trick School![]() |

We use Bentley as our trick master for several reasons. First of all Bentley loves doing any obedience or tricks. If and when we actually use a treat rather than just praise, half the time he gets so excited before you even say anything he starts doing every command and trick he knows. He's convinced one of them is going to be the one that makes us hand over that cookie. Bentley is also our main demo dog so when a new trick or command is introduced he's also the one who learns it first. We also use him because he's our old man on campus. I get asked almost daily if old dogs can learn new tricks. Bentley is 7 currently which isn't that old but he's no spring chicken either. He still acts like he's two but we assure you he's seven. Bentley loves to learn anything new. If we don't keep his little mind busy with new things he creates his own fun. That can be a dangerous thing, especially with Bentley. Once upon a time he was our holy terror. Bentley would jump on everyone, bark constantly, dig holes, run away, eat EVERYTHING, including a 2000 year old clay oil lamp from Israel, not to mention the three 200 dollar remotes. I could give you lists of things this dog has eaten. I always tell him that he wasn't shot because of his good looks. :) Bentley is now our star student! He no longer eats random objects, he can be off lead anywhere, he won't jump unless asked for a hug, he now knows speak and quiet, he even knows in and out which means he has to run inside the flags or outside the flags when we do Invisible Fence training. He's a good boy now. Bentley has been wanting to teach other dogs some of his favorite tricks so we agreed to allow him to run his trick school on our site :) Click down below to have Bentley teach you a trick.
